    Hi,

i already love this community. Thank you all for the effort and you Florian especially.

I just got my i1 Display Pro last week and as you can imagine, i tried several settings in the i1 Profiler app and also DisplayCAL.

I’m having an issue with the created profile from DisplayCAL, especially when looking at gradients like these: https://www.drycreekphoto.com/Learn/Calibration/monitor_gradient.htm

It not smooth and has some banding.

    Settings used for calibration:

    • White LED IPS
    • Interactive display adjustment
    • Whitepoint: 6500K
    • White level: 80cd/m
    • Tonecurve: Gamma 2.2
    • Calibration speed: Medium
    • Profile quality: High with 584 Patches

I put the zip archive from DisplayCAL into the attachment.

Love to hear from you! Thanks.

    Hi,

the profile looks fine. Note that it is not always possible to provide a completely banding-free result in color managed applications. It depends on the individual application and whether or not it uses high precision processing and/or high quality dithering.

    Hi Florian,

thank you for the quick answer. I still see this as an issue. No matter where look at gradients or “build” them in photoshop etc… I’m getting this weird non smoothed gradient.

Please see the attachment where i show the difference between i1 Profiler and DisplayCAL results.

Oh thats sad, that means that nothing except the Apple profiles and profiles from the i1Profiler software work correctly. 🙁
