    Both are active. There is no way to set (or figure out) a “master” display because there is no API for that in Windows. It’s as simple as that.

    So the “Clone source” setting is just affecting the enumeration order, and applications are using the first one with the active flag? This is still okay if I can reverse the order on my PC. I’m yet to see an application that saw the other monitor instead. I only care that the correct settings are applied to display 1.

    “Clone source” is an nVidia driver internal implementation detail. This is not exposed in any Windows API that other applications would be able to use.
