I need a colorimeter to measure the display brightness of screens in nits and to give me the gamut coverage percentage, preferably of P3 or NTSC. I don’t have to actually correct anything. I just need the measurements.

I believe DisplayCal can do this for me software-wise, but what currently-available colorimeter can I buy for this task? Would a Calibrate Display Pro HL do the job?

Yes, remember that you need to apply the proper colorimeter correction for the backlight technology of each display you measure.

To do you what you want with no calibration, set all calibration target values to as measured, then button will change from “calibrate & profile” to “profile only”.
Also depening on profile type: matrix (ideal colorspace based on prmaries and gamma, USUALLY YOU USE THIS) or table/XYZLUT profile (3d mesh) you may get some differences
