    Hi everyone,

I found this forum via Google and was hoping to get some expert opinions on a monitor choice.

I am looking for a display primarily for photo editing in Lightroom and Photoshop, but I also need it for gaming as I don’t have space for two monitors.

Because of this, I’ve narrowed my search down to two models with refresh rates over 60Hz.

    I am currently deciding between:

    • Asus PA27UCGE: Available as a return for €464.    Pros include a native 10-bit display and an integrated calibrator.
    • Dell U3225QE: Costs approximately €730.                Pros include a larger screen and better contrast.

Both have excellent reviews, but I am struggling to decide which is superior for my specific needs. Which of these would you recommend?

    Thanks!

1500:1 … it does not matter if it is 10bit or 8+2FRC
integrated calibrator is useless with ArgyllCMS ecosystem… you won’t be able to use it with this software.
integrated calibrator is useless if color uniformity is nt good.
It does not really matter 1500:1 vs 3000:1 for photo.
it won’t be useful for gaming to have a widegamut unles you can get a preset sRGB gamut 2.2. TRC or calibrate one preset slot to that.
it you do not knwo why you need a wideagmut for photo… maybe you do not need one, get a good sRGB monitor if low on budget.

Actual “entry”, “pro” and “safe” choice for low budgets will be a 27″ QHD CS2731 + calibrite display pro ~ 1000 + 200 euro.
Under that … you’ll playing lottery, and you may win but sucesss is not granted.

You can get a good sRGB display like Benq PD2705 or 06  in “U” (UHD) under 500€, consider this “safe choice” over what you suggest.
