#13350 (Bug) Jeti 1501 intermittently produces nan results during ‘Create Colorimieter correction’

Component: DisplayCAL 3.6.2

Context:
I am using ArgyllCMS 2.0.1 with DisplayCAL 3.6.2 on Mac OS 10.11.6
I have a Spectraval Jeti 1501 Spectroradiometer and an Xrite i1 Colorimeter
The issue:
I would like to create a colorimeter correction matrix for the i1 using the sepctraval. When I complete the process about 9 times out of 10 I get the error “ ccxxmake: Error – CGATS file ‘reference.ti3’ read error: Error in the field ‘reference.ti3: Field ‘XYZ_X’ has unexpected type should be ‘real’, is ‘non-quoted char string’“, and no corrective matrix is saved.
I have found the .ti3 files that are created during this process, and upon investigation into the reference .ti3 created by the Jeti 1501 I find that during successful attempts the file contains number sets each of 10 significant digits. When I look in the unsuccessful attempts the file contains number sets which contain a few entries of 4 significant digits, followed by many “nan” entries.
I did notice in the ArgyllCMS Changes list that in V1.4.0 a bug in spectro/ild3.c was repaired which had resulted in NAN. I wonder if the issue I’m experiencing is in some way similar.
A further piece to the puzzle:
I have used my Jeti 1501 to run a complete calibration of a monitor (for this calibration I didn’t use the i1 at all). On first calibration all worked fine. Then I did another calibration on the same monitor with exactly the same settings and at the end of the calibration attempt I encountered the message “ValueError: Cannot convert float NaN to integer”. Due to the reference to nan I suspect this is the same issue.
Request:
I notice that when I run DisplayCAL on a PC with Jeti and i1 all works fine consistently. I’m thinking this is a bug on the Mac combination.

Log file (turned on ArgyllCMS debugging output, then attempted ‘Create Colorimeter Correction’, then created a compressed log archive. Have also attached examples of .it3 file both with and without the error.

A further update –
I’m now getting the same behaviour on a PC, so it’s not limited to Macs.
Hi,
the debug log won’t help sorry. I see you already contacted Graeme via the ArgyllCMS mailing list. Have you followed his suggestion and ran spotread on the command line to try and figure out if there is/are a certain color(s) that could be triggering the problem? Note that this is likely happening in the instrument driver, so there’s not much help I can provide as the issue would probably have to be dealt with in ArgyllCMS.
Im having the same issue with my I1 Pro2 on mac and windows, did this issue ever get worked out?
