Hello,
I calibrated both of my monitors (EIZO CS240 and ASUS VG248) with displaycal. Using gamma estimation images I see that the gamma of the EIZO is correct with 2.2. But for the ASUS the estimated gamma is around 1.8. The only thing I did after calibration is to slightly reduce the brightness of the ASUS.
What could have gone wrong with the calibration of the ASUS?

2020-01-29 at 11:03 #22473-Make sure ColorNavigation is not “fighting” with DisplayCAL over video card LUTs.
-Make a profile verification over grey ramp, no simulation profile, just validate each display associatd profile.
Those HTML report tracking greyscale may reveal basic misconfiguration correctable by yourself or may help to other people to help you.2020-01-29 at 19:15 #22481Thanks for your reply.
I have turned uninstalled ColorNavigator, so this should not be the problem.
I am happy to make a profile verification, however, I do not know how to do this. I tried in DisplayCal and got the file attached. As far as I can see, the gamma should be okay. But the gamma-test-charts tell me something different …

You must be logged in to view attached files.2020-01-30 at 11:08 #22489Verification tab in DisplayCAL. All defaults choose a <100 patch set, then measure.
Self verification: TRC data from profile and measurements used to create that profile shows a “gamma” about 2.3.-2.4. Low contrast display need to “bend” gamma to lower values near black (from grey 26).
Also at your current settings (white level 300cd/m2) you have a black level about 0.36 which is typically 3x brighter than a common TN/IPS in common ambient light enviroment. Check your setup because that settings are not so common, although IDNK what do you want to do with the Asus.

In the meantime I found other gamma-checker images and these confirm a gamma of about 2.2. Sorry for the confusion. Something must have gone wrong with my first attempt.
For calibration I had used standard settings, i.e. I did not change anything due to my lack of knowledge about the details. I will take a look at the black level when I re-calibrate the monitors. The ASUS is not used for image prosessing but only for texts and graphics. So in the end it is not that critical. But I wanted to know if I did something wrong.
