    Hi!

Does anybody know, is there any way to write 3DLUT from DispCAL directly to hardware? There are displays and TVs with such support. I know that Calman can do this, but it so expensive, and not sure if it can write third-party 3DLUT (e.g. from DispCAL).

You’ll need an SDK to comm with monitor or TV, LUT3D formats are no practical issue. SDK must be provided by vendor and they do not want to provide it (although Panas can be upgraded for SDR), maybe a non free SDK is a requirement for those (paid) propietary calibration solutions to support that monitor or TV.

There’re some devices that allow to apply third-party 3D LUT on the line like these transmitters: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/miniconverters They’re not cheap, but they’re reliable solution.

And they have vendor software to upload third-party 3DLUT to them?

I’m sure, they provide it. Blackmagick distributes powerfull DaVinci Resolve for free (with some limitations, of course), and this product uses third-party 3D LUTs heavily. The problem is that these toys are not pure “inline LUTs”, they are modulator/demodulator devices made to pass well syncronized videosignal to some hundred feet.
