So 1909 just started getting pushed today. It’s much smaller feature update but wondering would be safe to update right now. Last time I updated to 1903, displaycal caused a lot of screen flickering every time I plugged in a USB.

1909 doesn’t really change anything of note if you’re already on 1903.

Not caused by DisplayCAL. When calibration gets cleared by a misbehaving external utility that you have installed, it gets restored by the profile loader (otherwise calibration would just be lost). The flickering is thus caused by the external utility, which shouldn’t clear calibration in the first place. Only way around this is to identify and remove the external utility, or disable the offending functionality in it (shoddy motherboard/graphics card utilities that come from an OEM are usually to blame, so this is not related to Windows updates directly).
