    When calibrating/profiling, should the white point be left at “as measured” or set at 6500k? I notice my colors are slightly less accurate when left to “as measured”, and typically attempt to get my whitepoint as close to 6500k as possible by manually adjusting the displays RGB values.

    It’s up to you. if you do not need to match another reference (display, lightbox, etc) you can leave “As measured”.
