400:1 after calibrating to 120 nit, 6500k and 2.2 gamma. Is this because of the low cd/m2

That monitor seems to have good contrast stability down to 55cd/m² according to this review. Did you lower the R/G/B settings significantly in your monitor settings to reach your desired whitepoint? Have you made absolutely sure that no light is leaking into the device during measurement?

I have two of the same monitor sitting right next to each other. Ran same calibration on both and get the same 400/1 contrast ratio.

Im wondering if this is NVIDIA’s fault. The Nvidia control panel perhaps i should make sure “Use Default Color Settings” is checked and i dont use NVIDIA settings anywhere.

As for light leakage. I have the two monitors directly next to each other, could that cause the light from one to leak into the other? I make sure the SPYDER5PRO is flat against the monitor when calibrating and verifying.

Just to be sure, does the contrast ratio also measure to 400:1 without the calibration?

And visually, does the contrast look low?

this is where I ended up. Wish the gamma was a bit closer to 2.2 and white point closer to 6500k but I guess this is okay.

Was this an output levels issue (16..235 vs 0..255)?

A 0.02 gamma difference is absolutely insignificant, same for 0.4 dE to daylight locus, and well within repeatability limits of display and instrument.

I believe it was a profile not being stored and used issue after calibration. I also made sure that Nvidia wasn’t controlling my colors.
