Hi Florian, just want to say thanks first for all the hard work you do.

When I calibrate my monitor, it doesn’t seem like the Gamma is actually at 2.2, despite DisplayCal reporting that it is. Doing a bunch of visual gamma tests (Eizo Monitor Test, Lagom.nl) puts my monitor somewhere between 1.7 ~ 2.0 gamma. I also calibrated my monitor using i1studio to compare, and it seems from the visual tests that it gives a more accurate 2.2 gamma. Although this profile does tend to crush blacks (not sure if there’s a relationship here).

What’s interesting is when I calibrate other displays with the same DisplayCal settings, the gamma calibrates perfectly and all the visual checks are at 2.2. Could it be an issue with the display or am I calibrating wrong?

    Thanks again.

Those visual tests are subject to browser color management and thus not really useful. See the FAQ in this forum.
