Hi all!
I’ve recently bought new screens, two Acer XB271HU. To my eye they were way oversaturated from the factory, especially compared to my old Eizo S2431W. This prompted me to get my first colorimeter, a ColorMunki Display, and try to properly calibrate the screens.
Now I have spent more than a couple of hours trawling the internet and coming up with bupkis on my problem. Maybe someone here can tell my what I’m doing wrong =)
So the problem is this; when I start the calibration process and the interactive display adjustment (IDA) window pops up and the measurement start it gets a set of initial RGB values (example attached). After the initial R, G, and B patches it stays on white (as intended from what I can gather), and I can adjust for the luminance value just fine. But altering the RGB (and CMY, because “six axis color”) settings does nothing to the RGB bars in the measurement window. Stopping the measurement, closing the measurement window, and restarting the process does change the measured RGB levels. I suppose this could work to get the bars within reason, but it’s time consuming and very tedious since the screen has, well, six axes of adjustment.
Is there something I’m totally missing here?

do not use six-axis controls, only RGB gains. If bars don’t change, one channel is already clipping (too high), reduce channels until bars start changing again.

Yup, that solves it (I think). Though the real RGB gain controls are NOT in the six-axis control at all, but well hidden in the user defined color temperature settings. “Thanks” Acer… *sigh*
I’ll try to do a proper calibration later tonight and post back with some results!
