Hi Florian,
first of all, really congratulations for your great software and my most sincere thanks for making it available at no cost!
And now…
I have a problem: my TV use Rec2020 for any 4K file at 23.976fps or 24fps even if the source is Rec709 (I use Madvr for scaling HD to 4K). So, in Madvr, the 3dlut Rec709 is applied but the TV uses the Rec2020 with the consequence that the colors are displayed oversaturated. I believe that a solution to the problem could be to create a 3dlut Rec709 in a Rec2020 container. Do you think it’s possible? Or do you have any other suggestions? Keep in mind that:
– My TV does not allow manual setting of the color space
– My TV uses the Rec709 on HD to 4K files at 50fps, 59fps or 60fps.
A last thing: HDR tone mapping is on Madvr side.
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
what you need to do is profile your TV in Rec2020 mode. When that is not selectable manually, you need to find some other way to engage it.
Hi Florian,
many thanks for your suggestion, I’ll try and I’ll come back here with my findings.
