Whenever I use MPC-HC or MPC-BE the screen brightens and washes out a little bit. I think it’s the gamma table, but I have these players set to their default values of 0 for all color changes. Is there a way to use these programs and not have them alter the color/gamma? BTW it goes back to normal when you exit the program. I’m using Win 10 Pro 64 BTW.
Thanks.
Are you using madVR with a 3D LUT? If so, this is expected bahavior.
I am using MadVR and and my icc profile name is.. (looking it up)
ROG PG279Q #1 2017-09-01 23-16 225cdm² D6500 2.4 M-S XYZLUT+MTX.icm
I’m not sure if the XYZLUT means it’s a 3DLUT or not.
If this is normal behavior can I correct for it by changing the gamma in the video player properties? For example, if it resets gamma to 2.2 from 2.4, I could raise the gamma in the video player by 0.2 to compensate.
Thanks
In that case, everything is in order and madVR is applying the 3D LUT correctly. The only way to have a madVR 3D LUT and the desktop calibration active at the same time without one interfering with the other is to enable windowed overlay in madVR’s rendering options (and making sure Direct3D 11 mode is disabled).
