Hello Florian
Thanks for version 3.3.1 Looks like a lot of cool new stuff…
Couple of operational questions: (When profiling to make an ‘XYZ LUT+Matrix’) – And adding CAM02 to the mix.
– Which ‘Bitdepth’ should I be choosing? Does changing it improve anything? My video card has bitdepth choices 8, 10, 12 (HDTV connected to computer) And I think the TV is 8 bit. (Maybe 10)
– Which ‘Output Levels’ should I choose. (HDTV connected to computer) – TV is set to expect Full RGB signal.
– Which ‘Patch Sequence’ setting gives the most accurate color profiles? (Or is best for HDTV\computer combo)Thanks… I also wonder which settings on this update equal the default settings of the previous version(s)… In other words, how to get the same results as before. 🙂

Couple of operational questions: (When profiling to make an ‘XYZ LUT+Matrix’) – And adding CAM02 to the mix.
Are you asking when to use CIECAM02?

This relates to the quantization bitdepth of the video card gamma tables, choosable in the DisplayCAL Profile Loader under Windows. If you have an AMD graphics card, leave this at 16. With nVidia and Intel, choose either 8 or 16, depending which of the two gives you less banding. The other choices (10, 12 and 14) are generally not useful – I added them on a whim, but on second thought, that didn’t make much sense. Oh well.
– Which ‘Output Levels’ should I choose. (HDTV connected to computer) – TV is set to expect Full RGB signal.
Normally I’d recommend to leave this at “Auto”.
– Which ‘Patch Sequence’ setting gives the most accurate color profiles? (Or is best for HDTV\computer combo)
Unless you have an LG OLED, leave this at default (“Minimize display response delay”).
Thanks… I also wonder which settings on this update equal the default settings of the previous version(s)… In other words, how to get the same results as before.
I’m quite confident the new defaults will give you results that are equal, in some cases maybe even slightly surpass, the previous defaults. If you just want to match the previous settings for the sake of it, move the patch amount slider on the “Profiling” tab up a notch to 425 patches.

Must not have had “Notify me of replies” checked. 🙂
