    HI Florian

Can you please tell me what the solution is for profiling an HDTV that has built-in dimming (that cannot be turned off).

Specifically during profiling., I think the screen is changing brightness levels depending on the patch’s brightness\darkness.

Should I make the patch smaller? If so, How small does it need to be?

    Thanks,

    Steve.

You’re at the mercy of your display – if the dimming is not defeatable, you’ll have to live with the possibility that profiling will not produce satisfactory results.

As small as it can be and still fit the instrument. Also, enable white level drift compensation and set patch sequence (profiling tab) to “Maximize lightness difference”.
