Hello,
I have an issue where profile loader seems to slow down whole system when my Lenovo Explorer VR Headset is plugged in.
The problem seems to happened every time :
- I start a vr session,
- I plug/unplug the headset, or any screen
- Profile loader start
When a screen is plugged profile loader seems to enter in a loop where it freezes for maybe 5s, unfreeze and so on, sometimes it may end by itself, sometimes I have to kill the process, which might be very tricky to do.
For information, the headset does not have a calibration profile, it is not even attached to the desktop.
Maybe someone know how I could tell profile loader not to take care of that display, or another workaround ?

2018-02-06 at 13:12 #10377here are the logs when starting profile loader
Strange enough, the problem only occurs if the headset was plugged before booting.
if the headset is plugged after login everything is ok.
if the headset was plugged before login, unplugging it will put the computer in a never ending loop of slow down périodes, until exiting profile loader by hand. After that I can replug the headset and restart profile loader without any problems.
There is nothing in the log while looping.
I feel like it might be an AMD bug

2018-02-08 at 8:32 #10408this is after a reboot, as you can see after 2018-02-08 08:10:07,302 there is two big lags that does occur at loggin, the ANX7530 (vr headset) was plugged before booting.
I dont know why this error : “Could not get display profile for display device” but it is still there when everything is ok.
when the problem is there the mouse is very very slow for 5 to 10s

2018-02-09 at 13:50 #10428none of them, powered or not it does not appear there.
2018-02-09 at 14:23 #10429here is the output with headset on, it appears as DISPLAY4 in DISPLAY ADAPTERS section, but not in MONITORS section.
note : the problem occurs even if the headset is off.

2018-02-17 at 13:30 #10569I just uploaded Beta2 (same link). This fixes a missing check when changing profiles.
2018-02-17 at 13:57 #10583Hello,
The problem is still there. when I start DisplayCAL-apply-profiles-launcher the system enter in an infinite loop of freeze / unfreeze until I kill the process.
But the problem does not occur if the headset was plugged after login. I can leave with that workaround, but if you are in the mood to fix don’t hesitate to ask.
Thank you for this amazing software.
2018-02-17 at 14:09 #10584I’m not sure if I can fix it as it seems to be related to standard Windows API calls that become very slow when the headset is plugged in for some reason. Try disabling “Fix profile associations” and see if that changes anything.
2018-02-17 at 14:19 #10586“Fix profile associations” does not fix the problem.
