what’s your measurement instrument please?
2018-06-18 at 19:30 #12424Oh, I should have said it.
It’s colormunki Display.
Calibrite Display SL on Amazon

2018-11-03 at 5:54 #14366Hi Florian, I have the same message on my Mac while doing a Resolve Monitor calibration using an i1 Display Pro. I find two problems:
- while I can get the color patch to display while I have Resolve as the active application, as soon as I switch to DisplayCal, it disappears and my monitor goes black.
- By clicking quickly on Resolve, I can get the first part of the calibration to work: where it shows the red, green and blue and white bars and asks you to center them, but as soon as I click start calibration after that, I get this error: New_disprd failed with ‘instrument access failed’
Also I was not able to find anywhere to download Argyll 2.02B that I see you recommended as a possible fix for this. I am currently running Argyll 2.01.
Thanks, David

See the Resolve guide in the Wiki, first sentence.

In case you’re using Windows and get (bogus) error 24, the beta will allow you to get the actual error code. Other than that, there’s nothing in 2.02b that affects the instrument driver.
2018-11-03 at 16:45 #14372Thanks Florian. That solved problem of the monitor going black, but as soon as I got to the second stage, I still got the same error.
I do have one thought as to why that might be: when I am in DisplayCal, it only offers me the choice of using an i1 Pro instrument, and I am actually using an i1 Display Pro. I wonder if that might be causing this issue?
(I am on a Mac, so no benefit from Argyll 2.02.)
BTW – Thanks for your very fast response. I have sent money to you in the past to show my appreciation of your wonderful software. I will send some more again now.

2018-11-03 at 16:58 #14374You may have to refresh the instrument enumeration (click the small circling arrows).
2018-11-03 at 17:26 #14377Florian – you were dead right. That found the right instrument, and also now solved the problem of getting past that error message. So it is busy calibrating right now.
I can’t thank you enough for the speed of your responses! I am deeply appreciative.
THANK YOU!
