measurement disagreement between DisplayCAL and HCFR

Profiling a new monitor last night and noticed a fairly large disagreement (dE > 2) between DisplayCAL and HCFR – for example, I used HCFR to set a “perfect” D65 white point but Dispcal read it with a significant minus-blue error with the same instrument.

Any idea what causes this? I know HCFR hasn’t been updated for more than a year, so I’m inclined to trust DispCAL, but the effect is very strange.

Usually these differences are down to not using the exact same colorimeter correction (display type in HCFR).
