I am wondering if it is possible to use DisplayCal to profile my macbook pro’s display (native factory calibration), and calibrate my external monitors to match that profile.  In other words, I want to calibrate my externals to match the MB Pro’s native (non-calibrated) display profile.  Any input is greatly appreciated.

Typical new Apple display is P3, no more, no less.

To match more or less the same colorpace you’ll need a widegamut. From 95% P3 (and only that) to 9x% P3+AdobeRGB 9x% (in photo displays).

Matching a 95% P3 multimedia display is just matching factory whitepoint in Apple display: measure it, set it as target. YOu can fine tune it visually with visual white point editor. Mac P3 screens are WLED PFS, you’ll need to use bundled CCSS correction for i1d3 colorimeters in DisplayCAL or if you use an Xrite spectrophotometer make sure you use 3nm (high res mode). Also sleect as target nominal gamma in mac display: measure it.

Doing the same in photo displays covering a very high % of P3 & AdobeRGB implies limiting green channel + white and gamma described previously.
-You can do it with vendor software if it has reliable HW calibration (that means no LG, no Asus, No Benq, no Samsung… and maybe no dell or viewsonic).
-You can do it too with saturation controls in custom/user mode OSD preset. Just modify G or GC satutaion fro RGB or RGBCMY depending on OSD features. Use DisplayCAL cousing HCFR for that green limitation task. HCFR is windows only, buyt you can plug display no another computer, modify green coordinates inside monitor (OSD) and then plug it back to mac. Then fix white and gamma as in previous expample
