Trying to create a 3dlut with Displaycal for HDR to SDR BT2020 using Madvr.
Not sure about the settings though.
The MadTPG window always says “BT709” regardless of what the setting under
the calibration tab are set to…
The settings under the calibration tab are the follwing:
– “This display is already calibrated”
– “The display is calibrated to the following primaries/gumut: BT.2020”
– “Report BT.2020 to display”
The display changes to BT.2020 but the actual MadTPG window still reports
BT.709.
Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Just use the display profile you have for SDR Rec709. It only captures uncalibrated display behavior (NATIVE GAMUT) + optional grey calibration for neutral grey.
Then make LUT3D, Rec2020 “in” and whatever TRC you want (2.2 is expected by default ion madVR to run HDR to SDR shaders), display native gamut SDR profile “out”.
