MacBook Pro, preview plays dark after creating a new color profile

Hi all,

I use macbook pro mid 2015

I used displaycal + spyder5 to create a new color profile and everything is perfect except whenever I use “spacebar” to preview stuff, images or videos get darken after 0.5 sec of showing a correct image.

This is very annoying since im a graphic designer. I would have to open the file in psd or whatever the app it runs with, only then it shows the correct color. However whenever I switch back to mac’s original color profile, although the color is obviously not right, the color shift doesn’t occur when I preview stuff.

How do you fix this?

Hi,

this is a well-known macOS bug. Do not use any other than the default settings profiles if you care about Preview. DisplayCAL actually warns about this when you change settings from default.
