looking for flat gamma – banding at low IRE

Just removed and reinstalled DispCAL and lost some settings, I think. My recent profiles have all resulted in “curving” gammas – rising from 2.0 at IRE 0 to 2.4 at about IRE 20-25 – and this has resulted in banding at the low IRE’s. No matter what I try, the effect persists – I’ve gone with a tone curve of “2.4 Absolute” and black output offset of 100% (on both calibration and verification setups) but it hasn’t worked.

Is there some setting/s buried somewhere that I can change that might not have survived the reinstall?

You will have an effective gamma below the chosen target on any display with nonzero black level. Anything else would result in clipping.
