Hello,
I currently have a ColorMunki Smile colorimeter which is intended to be used on LCD and LED panels. It works perfectly fine for my LED panels, but I also have an OLED TV and I was wondering if I would do more harm than good by calibrating it with this colorimeter? I tried searching a bit on this forum and on the web, but I wasn’t able to find a concrete answer to this question.
Thanks in advance!
Sam

You’ll need an spectrophotometer to correct colorimeter readings or an i1d3.
But if you are happy with some “visual” match in white point you can use some app in ArgyllCMS ecosystem to match IRE in grey to that white color, although you may want to skip darkest patches.
Thanks for the info.
I probably should clarify that this is not for professional work, I’m simply an amateur who would like to get closer to “reference” level, so I don’t mind if it’s not perfect. I’m just worried that I’m actually making it worse.
