First time displayCAL user with a basic question: I’ve downloaded displayCAL software and successfully connected an x-rite i1Display. But clicking the “calibrate and display” button gets me the message “Waiting for connection at … [my correct IP address followed by a colon and five additional digits]”. The connection doesn’t occur no matter how long I wait, so I’m unable to proceed with setup and calibration.
Do I need to change the IP for my computer and start over?
Followup on my IP connection issue: This is only occurring on my macbook pro (OS 10.13.6). On my iMac (OS 10.9.5), same router/modem, it’s not an issue. Unfortunately I can only run Resolve from the macbook pro, so that’s the machine on which I need to use displayCAL. Regarding the aforementioned IP address, I just learned the “extra” digits at the end are the port number. So the IP number in the “waiting for connection at *** *** *:****” message is correct–but displayCAL won’t connect with this machine. Not sure what to try next.

Hi,
are you using a firewall? Besides, if you are using DisplayCAL and Resolve on the same machine, you can also use localhost (or 127.0.0.1).
Hello,
Thanks! I hadn’t realized I needed to enter the IP on the Resolve ap itself. I should have dug into the DisplayCAL Usage documentation first, but your response got me on the right track.
