instrument access failed with new colormunki disp

I just received the colormunki display and used it some with the xrite software. I thought using it with displayCAL would be simple enough. The program recognizes the sensor easily but when I try to do the interactive measurement I get the attached error window. I checked with the quick start guide but it seems like there’s really nothing that has to be done when using the colormunki display sensor.

Can someone tell me what I need to do?

X-Rite software still running? If so, close it. Might be a good idea to also stop the X-Rite devices service.
