iMac; DisplayCal Profile kills Chrome & WhatsApp

I have an issue where the profile that I created with DisplayCal causes issues with both Chrome and WhatsApp.

While I don’t run the two named programs, my system seems fine. As soon as I start either of them, it pegs the processor to 100%. Display refresh rates are about once per 2 seconds. Other applications become sluggish while either of those two are running.

When I switch to the default display profile, all these issues immediately go away.

Please advise me on how to proceed.
