    Hi,

I’ve an Xrite i1 display pro and I was quite happy with it.

I use debian sid and now, wayland is the default window manager.

I’ve just reprofiled my display and when doing the verification, I’ve plenty of red data (max and mean values).

As this was unusual, I restarted my session using x11 and then everything is fine.

Attached bot verification reports I got with the same DisplayCAL settings.

    Regards

    Jean-Luc

I’m not sure about the state of wayland (or Xwayland for that matter). Does it do its own color management? If so, then that needs to be dealt with in Argyll’s display reading utilities somehow.

What’s the result if you verify the ‘good’ profile under wayland?

    Hi,

The “good” profile est measured as “good” also in wayland.

    Attached the verification report.

I use darktable for raw images processing. It has an utility to check to colour management of the system.

    With xorg, I get:

    darktable-cmstest version 2.5.0+277~g42cfe8aeb-dirty
this executable was built with colord support enabled
darktable itself was built with colord support enabled

primary CRTC is at CRTC 0
CRTC for screen 0 CRTC 1 has no mode or no output, skipping
CRTC for screen 0 CRTC 2 has no mode or no output, skipping

HDMI-1 the X atom and colord returned the same profile
    X atom: _ICC_PROFILE (740844 bytes)
    description: HP 24cw #1 2018-03-11 15-15 2.2 M-S XYZLUT+MTX
    colord: “/home/jean-luc/.local/share/icc/HP 24cw #1 2018-03-11 15-15 2.2 M-S XYZLUT+MTX.icc”
    description: HP 24cw #1 2018-03-11 15-15 2.2 M-S XYZLUT+MTX

Your system seems to be correctly configured

With xwayland, it is not the same:

    darktable-cmstest version 2.5.0+277~g42cfe8aeb-dirty
this executable was built with colord support enabled
darktable itself was built with colord support enabled

    couldn’t locate primary CRTC!

XWAYLAND0 the X atom and colord returned different profiles
    X atom: _ICC_PROFILE (740844 bytes)
    description: HP 24cw #1 2018-03-11 15-15 2.2 M-S XYZLUT+MTX
    colord: “(none)”
    description: (file not found)

    Better check your system setup
    – some monitors reported different profiles
You may experience inconsistent color rendition between color managed applications

But it seems that is related to the way darktable prompt for the screen.

    Regards

    Jean-Luc
