    Hi all.

I looked and looked and read and tried… and still hitting a wall with the DisplayCAL 3.3.2

    I am running CENTOS 6.8.

I compiled argyllcms 1.9.2 and installed DisplayCAL 3.3.2

Everything works fine until I get to the “install profile” and than it crashes, refuses, doesn’t want to.

    I have included the whole log f16:40:32,591     ‘HP Z24x #1 2017-07-06 16-27 2.2 F-S XYZLUT+MTX.icc’

    I compiled argyllcms 1.9.2

Have you tried the official binaries from argyllcms.com? Otherwise please run dispwin with -D8 and post the debug output.

    Thank you Florian.

Attached is the output.  Everything seems to run fine.  The problem only happens when applying the ICC profile.  Not sure why it cannot seem to save it.  How can I ‘create’ and ‘save’ the ICC and try to apply manually?  I know there is an upload section, but that seems to want to upload to the Internet.

Sorry, i meant add the -D8 option to the normal dispwin profile install commandline (from the first log).

I am not sure what you mean by the above.   I have been trying from the GUI.

Also, I enabled some extra debugging.  I am running into this error in the debug logs…

    13:59:55,961 dispwin_set_ramdac returning OK
    13:59:55,961 dispwin_install_profile ‘HP Z24x #1 2017-07-07 11-19 0.3127x 0.329y sRGB F-S

13:59:56,231 The profile could not be installed/activated.

    Failed with ‘colord-not-found’

Interesting – didn’t know I needed to install COLORD…  now, I guess I have to find and install that as well?

Yes, and also possibly a colord-aware session daemon (gnome-session is colord-aware, so Gnome-based systems should already have all necessary components, if you’re using KDE you might need colord-kde, in all other cases install xiccd).

Okay…  So, now I am going in circles.

    I have gnome-session-2.28.0-24…  installed.

I managed to find a version of gnome-color-manager that I could compile against CENTOS 6.8 v. gcm 2.31.92

From, gnome color manager, I can apply an ICC that is generated from DisplayCAL.  From DisplayCAL, I am still receiving the same error about ‘colord-not-found’

The only instance I have (locate colord) is located in: /usr/lib64/python2.6/site-packages/DisplayCAL/colord.py

Permissions on the python scripts all appear to be 644 – which seems right.

You sir Florian Höch – are a genius.  Thank you.

First, after installing the GCM – I guess the machine needed a reboot to load some libraries(?!) but everything seems to be working now.  I am finally able to load the ICCs into the monitor.  How much fun was that.

I have the compiled RPMs for Argyllcms 1.9.2 and for Gnome Color Manager 2.31.92 – if anyone requires them.  I can maybe send them up to a repo somewhere…  They may come in useful.

Anyways.  For now, all seems well and happy.

Now, I just need to find someone who is not color blind to do the balancing.  😉
