Recently I got a Dell U2415 monitor, the contrast after calibration (with i1D) is around 800:1, but on tftcentral it’s about 1000:1. (so I know this monitor has the potential to do better unless I got a bad one). So what happened was that the black level was higher after the calibration. I wonder if it has to do how I set the “black output offset” and “black point correction”. Can someone comment on this? Thx!

    Hi,

black point correction naturally raises the black level (you can only add, not subtract from zero). This option is disabled by default unless you use the “Softproofing” preset.

Thanks, and how should I set the black output offset percentage for a 1000:1 IPS monitor?
