whats the sweet spot for pattern count for accuracy??
for icc
and also for 3dlut????
Depends on how ideal is the device. As a general rule try to create a single curve + matrix + black point compensation profile and “auto” or an small LUT testchart to track grayscale. Also use medium speed or slower to take 48 or more measurements on graycale while calibrating grey.
Then validate, if it is ok… ICC is OK. If there are volumetric errors you may need a 3d mesh to measure display colorspace since its behavior is far from ideal. If that happens start with default auto or 7xx LUT test chart (or bigger) and a XYZLUT+matrix profile.
Even if ICC single matrix + curveis OK for usieng in color managed apps, you may want a detailed XYZLUT profile for makeing LUT3D, so just for making LUT3D an XYZLUT profile + auto size in test chart will do the job.
