Can the x-rite i1 display studio do hardware calibrations?
No. It is not a colorimeter limitation. It is a software limitation from HW calibration software that is locked, it refuses that device. You’ll need the pro. It’s Xrite software licensing policy.
With an open SDK like some vendors offered in the past, it would be possible to write your own app and write HW calibration to display using a Munkidisplay/display studio. Too much work, better to pay the i1displaypro. I’ve explained tjhis just to ensure that you understand that it is not a “device limitation”, but a “software limitation” derived from Xrite licensing policy to 3rd parties using Xrite SDK.
