    Hello,

For visual perception research concerns I would like to linearize my monitor (ASUS vg279qm) color profile. I would like to pass from 2.2 gamma to 1.0. Does DisplayCal allow this?

I’m using DisplayCal with a Datacolor Spyder4Pro display calibration system.

    Thanks.

    a) set gamma to 1

    b) choose existing calibration for gamma x.x, open “.cal” file. De-gamma values here. Back to .cal, load them manually. This way you can compute 2 o 3 gammas and load them fast

Thanks for your reply but I’m afraid I don’t get what you mean. I only found two “.cal” files called test.cal and linear.cal but I can’t do anything with those files.
    And then how to de-gamma?

There should be one .cal on each calibration folder. In Windows is in app/Roaming, look for DisplayCAL folder.

    And then how to de-gamma?

If you have linear light, so if you double input you get twice output in cd/m2, and you have a 2.2 gamma display you should “gamma encode” it before sending, actually the inverse power law. That should be a hint. Multiply each value in .cal for equivalent de gamma value for that input.

Or just do full calibration to 1.0 if you find it easier.
