Hello. I am trying to use my monitor for HDR games and while I can map my 3DLUT to the PQ gamma curve (SMPTE 2084), I cannot map the 1DLUT to that curve. My question is can I just leave the 1dLUT as any tone curve or even jsut “as measured”, and map the 3DLUT to rec2020 or DCI-P3 d65 (unsure which colorspace to do), will the 3DLUT tone curve replace the 1DLUT tone curve?

Map is “cotent colorspace” (source) to “your display profile” (destination) with whatever source TRC you choose.
For example “rec709 g2.4” to “my p3 display g2.2”: applications that are able to use that LUT3D file will render colors as if your display was rec709 and 2.4 gamma. It does not matter actual display TRC as long as display profile stores display behavior.
