Using HCFR I’ve calibrated my HTPC input grayscale to a pretty respectable average dE of 0.3. Gamma also tracks BT.1886 target really well.

I generated a madVr 3dLUT to improve my colors on movie watching with MPC-HC. I get pretty good measurable results now with colorchecker dE < 1.0.

I did not however create a standalone profile 1D Lut, I kept the tone in the calibration section “as measured”. Was that the right move since my calibration seems pretty good without any loaded profile?

Should I create a profile to load the video card’s vcgt?

    I appreciate the guidance.

    That’s fine.
