DisplayCal takes hours on Mac

Using a Spyder 4 running Displaycal 3.8.9.3 & ArgyllCMS 2.2.2 at Medium speed on 2017 27″ 3.4GHz iMac 10.15.7 with 24GB Memory. The original estimate said 22 minutes, but current session is still running for over 2 hours. Had this slow performance on earlier OS’s and computers.

Is this what I should expect or is there something I can do to speed things up?
