So I installed the software for DisplayCal and it seemed to have done monitor one fine then moved on to my brand new monitor which looked a bit bluer/green in comparison but not a lot.
The software shows that the white point is off and need to reduce the green a lot and to get the bars to meet at the middle this is what I get before calibration. In fact I don’t get the option as it’s apparently perfect.
Am I doing something wrong as the defaults are left as is.

You can see the blue/greens more.

Also you are not aiming for D65
2021-02-06 at 15:45 #28503I know basics of aiming for a middle ground as per notes. What is D65?
I looked on Dell forums as had the same issue of is it the 100% gain we start from or the actual 50% offset for RGB from default and everyone has said to use the RGB offset. It’s annoying as my eye can see so much but wanted the calibration to fine tune it.
2021-02-06 at 15:51 #28504Use gain to aproach D65, not offset. D65 is 6500K at daylight curve.
Also need proper colorimeter correction. If that Dell is a P3 monitor, very likely to use WLED PFS phosphor (labeled in DisplayCAL as 95% P3). If using community CCSS, use the ones at 3nm not a 10nm, and do not even try CCMX corrections.
2021-02-06 at 18:40 #28507I’m using the XRite i3 studio the base package. I used to have the other competition but told this was more than enough with DisplayCal.
My ultra wide monitor is 6 months old and it’s a Dell U3419W and just bought the gaming Dell S2721DGF. The original xrite software couldn’t calibrate the new 27” as it just gave that above purple image based on aligning the markers at the centre. The DisplayCal is struggling to do the 34” as showing excess green.
Also on both Dells as default the RGB gain is set to 100% and the RGB offset is set to 50%.
