After creating a custom color profile using DisplayCal and SpyderX everything seemed to be set correctly. But when I watch video (for example using Apple TV+ app) the colors seem to jump slightly every few seconds. It is subtle, but noticeable. blacks get darker, then lighter, reds more red, then back. It’s like it’s trying to correct itself every few seconds. When I switch my profile back to the default on mac I do not have this issue. This seems to effect only video, other application look fine with the custom color profile. Any ideas why this is happening?
Apple has a function called “True Tone” that adjusts the display on-the-fly. It should be turned off on a calibrated display.
Yes, I forgot mention, I turned this off as it messed up my calibration, but it has no effect on my video playback problem I’m encountering. Any other ideas why this could be happening?
Hmm, not currently. Probably something in the video player app.
