Dear all, i am not sure i’m writing in the right section or if this has been asked before but after making the calibration on my laptop HP envy 15 k113nl using the Spyder5 and DisplauCAL software i get crushed blacks when using Lightroom only. Every other application of view is just fine with right calibration but Lightroom shows altered blacks as in the attached picture. Thanks for your support in advance.

PS i also have attached a picture opened with FastPictureViewer just to show the difference.

    Hi,

looks like the posterization is already in the source image, though. If it is an sRGB image viewed on a gamma 2.2 monitor, color managed software may make the posterization more visible because it will map the sRGB tone response curve exactly into the display response, while results will be too dark in non color managed applications (thus “crushing” the artifacts hiding in the shadows).

You can also try creating a single curve + matrix profile with black point compensation (no need to run new measurements). To do that, set testchart to “Auto” on the “Profiling” tab in DisplayCAL and move the testchart patches amount slider all the way to the left. Then, select “Create profile from measurement data…” in the “File” menu and select your original profile. Save under a new name and install after it has been created. Restart Lightroom.
