I just used DisplayCal to create 2 profiles for 2 monitors.  The new profiles look outstanding!  Once loaded though, the apple ColorSync Utility has labeled them both as “bad profile.”

What should I do now?  Should I:

    1.  Ignore the warning
    2.  Attempt to use ColorSync Utility to repair
    3.  Create new DisplayCal profiles?

Does anyone have advice as to what is causing the problem, and how to avoid with future calabrating/profiling?

    Hi,

    Ignore the warning

You can safely ignore the warning. The technical reason ColorSync Utility is complaining is because of the profile ID that is set in the profile. In ICCv2, the profile ID field is ignored, and CS Utility seems to make the (false) assumption that the byte range occupied by the profile ID, despite being reserved and their use not specified in ICCv2, need to be zeroed. This is not mentioned nor implied in the ICCv2 specification though.
