    Is there a way to tell DispCAL  to adhere to (and, thus, minimize) the dE ICtCp color difference? Or is dE2000 the “only game in town”?

    You mean during iterative calibration? That’s the one part where dE is used to minimize color difference, and where dE 2000 has probably an edge over delta ITP because the former is more sensitive on the gray axis (without giving – in my opinion undue – weight to luminance differences like delta ITP).

    You can select the Pytlarz modification of the original delta ICtCp on measurement reports though.

    [ Personally I find the relatively new focus on dE ITP in some parts of the industry potentially suspicious, since most of the research done in that area seems to be done by entities which appear to be close to Dolby, the creators of ICtCp, and proper peer review by third parties and independent research looks to be largely missing. ]
