Calibration Using Remote Displays

I want to calibrate a TV, but it’s a good distance away from my computer and I don’t have a laptop. If I used Miracast/WiDi to set up a remote display, would that then impact the results the same way Chromecast might? I can run an extension cable from my desktop to the TV for the colorimeter, but if I’m going to get inaccurate results I’ll obviously want to figure something else out.
