Calibration of secondary X-screen

I just tried that without any luck: my computer will not get to the login screen. It looks like its trying to get into the right mode, but every time the mouse pointer is shown, the screens go black after 1/2 second and it will try again.

I had to wait a while until I could get into console mode and manually remove xorg.conf …

Can I somehow create a color profile while in ‘native’ Ubuntu mode (extended screen), and then load this profile into a xorg configuration using xorg.conf?

Extended desktop is the only supported configuration.
