Anyone know how I can measure or know what is the best black level upon calibration, there are the following options:

    • minimum
    • 0.2
    • 0.5
    • 1.0
    • 1.5
    • 2.0

This. Destroy contrast in softproof if needed rather than in calibration

Why minimum over the rest. I didn’t quite understand your reply ?

Max contrast for that white color. Destroy contrast in softproof if needed rather than in calibration

Are you saying that if it’s set to anything else but minimum; it will destroy the contrast in softproof related to printing ?

I’m saying the opposite. This bunch of questions is really stupid…

Keep contrast at maximum. If you need to lower it for some reason (like softproof) let softproof deal with it (L* of blakc in simulated printer profile)

I think Christopher’s questions is “what does the black level control do” so he knows how to set it on Asus PA329C?

Idk myself… Does “minumum” mean minimize contrast or minimize contrast reduction effect?

Christopher, you can prolly asnwer this question yourself by trying the two extremes are seeing how contrast is affected!

But nonetheless it’s almost a fair question.
