I work in low light (1 60watt incandescent) at nighttime but with full window light by day. My colorimeter reports 11lux at night, I haven’t tried day yet.
Should I calibrate my display for day, night, somewhere in between, or just stick to the default settings?
I noticed that by calibrating with my lux set to 11, the contrast ratio has gone way, way up.

Note that calibration settings only apply to non color managed content (under Windows, the vast majority of applications and the desktop). My general recommendation is to use the default settings (i.e. ambient light level calibration adjustment disabled).
Ah ok, thank you Florian, that makes things easier.
