I used Display Cal 3.3.5 with my Mac Os X 10.11.6 and a Spyder3 – now I have in my Os System a violet Color in • my E-Mail Software • Link Info Hover in Browsers • in the left area of Folders and so on…
Deactivating the generated profile, the described “System Colors” change to normal.

Mac OS X graphics cache bug. Logout and/or reboot will fix this.
I have got the same behaviour, violet menu bar, dialog background etc. Unfortunately, logout or reboot didn’t solve the problem!
Is it perhaps because I chose “White LED” although I’m not quite sure about the display? Profile name is “…180cdm² D6500 sRGB F-S XYZLUT+MTX”
