Hello,

I upgraded my computer with a new power supply and a new graphics card.
I wanted to re-calibrate the monitor and I got the the message in the subject.
The display driver works properly and also all other devices. No errors listed in the windows device manager. However I suspect that I might have connected the USB hub to another port on the back of the computer.

Logfiles attached.

I tried other USB port for the hub, tried restart, tried reinstalling DisplayCAL and Argyll but nothing seemed to fix it. For DisplayCAL I did not delete the stored files.

Looking forward to your feedback.
Many thanks!

Greetings,
Viktor

  1. Problem solved.

I troubleshooted the USB devices, and reordered the connections. It seems like one root hub does not like to have another hub connected. The problem was not caused by DisplayCAL.

If you wonder I link bellow the tools I used. (they need to be run as administrator on win 10)

Device Cleanup Tool V0.6 and USB Device Tree Viewer:

  2. I’ve had a similar issue happen to me. And forgive me because I’m new to DisplayCal and am not as tech savvy as most everyone here.  I downloaded DisplayCal and Argyll, but when I tried to calibrate, it would start the test then immediately show the same error listed above. No other devices were plugged into my laptop. I have a MacBook that runs Sierra. I’ve attached the logfiles.
