Purchased an i1 Display Pro to calibrate my LG38GL950-B. After installing DisplayCal 3.8.9.3 I receive the following error after clicking “Calibrate & Profile”:

“Your graphics drivers or hardware do not support loadable gamma ramps or calibration. You may need to update your device drivers.”

I pulled up the log and see the following error which I assume is the problem:

11:33:47,204 Checking video card gamma table access for display 1…
11:33:47,242 Dispwin: Error – We don’t have access to the VideoLUT
11:33:47,275 Dispwin: Error – We don’t have access to the VideoLUT for clearing
11:33:47,305 Dispwin: Error – We don’t have access to the VideoLUT for loading
11:33:47,335 Dispwin: Error – We don’t have access to the VideoLUT for clearing

I’m running on the latest available Windows 10 Pro Version 20H2 Build 19042.964 with a Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080 on the latest 466.27 game-ready driver.

Attempted troubleshooting:

  • I tried to patch the latest build of ArgyllCMS by downloading the current version 2.2.0 and overwriting the files in the AppData\Roaming\DisplayCAL\dl\Argyll_V2.1.2\bin folder with the ones from the new version. —-> Same error
  • I uninstalled and re-installed DisplayCal then rebooted the computer—> Same error
  • I performed a clean install of the latest nvidia game-ready driver then rebooted the computer—> Same error

Any idea how I can get it working, or do I need to wait for a new version of DisplayCal and/or AgyllCMS?

  1. Issue Solved! Here’s what I did in case someone finds it usefulI looked at Device Manager and under “Monitors” found “Generic PnP Monitor”.When I looked at the properties the driver said the provider was “Teamviewer”.I opened Color Management via Control Panel and there was no monitor listed in the dropdown.I went back to Device Manager and uninstalled the monitor driver, then ran “Scan for Hardware Changes” and the monitor showed up again.I checked the properties and under the driver tab it now says the driver provider is “Microsoft”.I closed and restarted Color Management and now there is a display listed under devices labeled “Display 1: Generic PnP Monitor – Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080”.I Launched DisplayCal and clicked “Tools/Detect Display Devices and Instruments”. I clicked “Calibrate & profile” and this time it worked without errorHopefully this is helpful for someone else!
