Hi. Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not, or if the problem I’m having is user error or a genuine bug?
I’m trying to run DisplayCAL on an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) running Mojave 10.14.4 with a ColorMunki Display, however every time I click on calibrate I get the error ‘Reading CCMX/CCSS File ‘iMac – iMac Pro.ccss failed’.
Any thoughts on how to fix?
The CCSS file is likely faulty. Where did it come from? Online database? If so, please tell me the creation date, so that I can do some housekeeping and blacklist it.
Hi Florian. Thanks for the speedy response.
The CCSS file came from here: https://photographylife.com/how-to-calibrate-imac-and-imac-pro-displays
Do I need the file to accurately calibrate my iMac or can you recommend a different CCSS to work with?
Whoever created that file manually edited it and messed up – it contains typography quotes. Don’t use it. Use “LCD PFS Phosphor WLED IPS, 99% P3 (MacBook Pro Retina 2016)” (same display as newer iMacs), automatically installed by DisplayCAL 3.8 installer.
Cheers Florian.
That worked perfectly (though the lights on my ColorMunki stopped flashing whilst calibrating which threw me) .
I also have have an older 27″ Cinema Display hooked up as second monitor. What settings would you suggest I use to calibrate that to match the iMac display?
