Using DisplayCal 3.8.9.3 from Flatpak under Ubuntu 20.04.
I did a profile for my external display (no calibration LUTs). I think it was successful.
But it would be useful (nice to know) to compare this new ICC to factory provided one, and maybe compare to sRGB as well, using visual map from the “Profile information” feature. BUT, there are only a few options under “Comparison profile” menu. No sRGB even. Can I manually transfer ICC files to there somehow? I cannot find the folder location. I know the flatpak installation probably makes this even harder.
There are. Display profile info, choose refernce profile (/ref folder argyllcms) for comparison. Then you get a 2D CIE xy or a*b* and tehn you can get a 3D view in HTML.
Display profile info uses default display profile, use it commandline to add arbitrary profile a main profile for comparisons.
Hi!
Thanks for the answer, but I don’t still understand where you can choose reference profiles or add more. I think the flatpak sandboxing may make this harder?
Here’s the Display profile window, there are just a few options in the comparison profile drop down menu. It seems to get them from ” /app/share/Displaycal/ref/ folder, but I cannot find such folder

Maybe it’s easier to run these things in a WIndows VM. Then when you have used it and knows how it works try to solve flatpak issues.
